Steve Says: Don't be Nervous

Our recent “Ask an Expert” articles have focused on making sure that your business shows accurate information online. We have also covered the importance of not sharing incorrect or irrelevant information.  With this in mind, we are very pleased to see the new Google Dashboard tool – “Me on the Web”. “Me on the Web” is an automatic tool that helps you keep an eye on your online identity and alerts you when anything about your business is put online.

For the purposes of this article we will assume you already use Google Dashboard, however, if not, please add this tool to your account using this link. You can set up alerts so that whenever anyone puts information about you, your phone number, your services, your name, or, if you are mentioned in news stories or websites then an alert is automatically sent out to notify you.

The “Me on the Web” tool helps you manage your online identity, keep up to date with all examples on the internet related directly to your company’s identity and help you contact the appropriate webmaster to remove things like incorrect phone numbers, wrong spellings, offensive posts or photo tags.

Using “Me on the Web” is simple to set up and even simpler to keep up to date. Take a look at this link and see how it can help your business!
